Olivia Newton-John- international superstar of studio, stage and screen and one of our most beloved Pop icons, returns to Perth for A Summer Night with Olivia Newton-John and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, at Burswood Theatre on Friday 24 February.

Olivia’s illustrious four decade career has brought significant accolades including four Grammys, an Emmy, American Music, People’s Choice, Country Music and Lifetime Achievement Awards, an induction into the Australian Music Hall of Fame and inclusion in VH1′s 100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll.

The American debut album, Let me Be There, gave Olivia her first Top Ten single, Grammy and Academy of Country Music Award and a further fourteen Top Ten and nine Number One singles, contributed to sales of over one hundred million Platinum, Double Platinum and Gold albums.

The most successful movie musical in history, Grease, produced the mega hits Hopelessly Devoted to You and with John Travolta, You’re The One That I Want and Summer Nights.

Olivia collaborated with the Electric Light Orchestra on the Xanadu movie title track which contributed to ten hits at the top of the UK charts, including a record seven consecutive singles – I Honestly Love You, Have You Never Been Mellow, Please Mr. Please, Something Better To Do, Let It Shine, Come On Over and Don’t Stop Believin.

Magic spent four weeks at the top of the charts while Billboard magazine’s 2010 Sexiest Song of All Time, Physical, remained in the prime spot for ten consecutive weeks and ranked as the biggest song of the eighties.

Olivia recorded a concert special at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony for PBS in 2007, has appeared in two episodes of Glee, (another Top 100 hit with Physical, performed with Jane Lynch) and has a new film due for release on Australia Day next year, A Few Best Men.

Other memorable career moments include dancing with Gene Kelly, singing Dare to Dream with John Farnham to a global audience at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and a Vatican invitation to perform at the Jubilee Celebration for the Sick and Healthcare Workers.

Olivia is a creative and vibrant individual who gives generously through her humanitarian, animal rights and environmental projects and was bestowed an OBE for her commitment to charity.

Surviving breast cancer in the 90′s inspired Olivia to write and produce her most personal album, Gaia, reflecting on that journey.   As an advocate for early detection, Olivia partnered with Austin Health to build the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne.

Set to open next year, the Centre will include purpose built facilities for cancer treatment, education and training and deliver international research programs.  A dedicated Wellness Centre will also provide complimentary therapies to the latest medical treatment – to help heal the whole person - body, mind and spirit.

Olivia’s first book, LivWise: Easy Recipes For A Healthy, Happy Life, was released in May this year, Grace and Gratitude: Renewed is her current album and a dance remix of classic hits and new songs is set for 2012.
