Following the outstanding sellout success of last year’s concert, The Ord Valley Events Board and West Australian concert/event promoter, Mellen Events are pleased to announce that the 2013 Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience will once again feature a line-up of Aussie greats, this year headlined by singer songwriter Guy Sebastian.
The Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience is one of the highlights of The Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster. The muster is supported by the State Government for the next two years through Eventscorp’s Regional Events Program, which is funded by Royalties for Regions.
The concert at the Jim Hughes Amphitheatre in Kununurra on Saturday, 25 May will also feature Mark Seymour, James Reyne, Gurrumul Yunupingu and popular local support acts.
Over the course of his career Guy Sebastian has received 19 ARIA Award Nominations and is the only male solo artist in Australian chart history to achieve eight number one’s and is second overall for all Australian acts. He also has 37 platinum and four gold certifications.
Guy became the first Australian Idol winner in 2003, capturing the hearts of Australians with his uniqueness and incredible vocal talent. His first solo single Angels Brought Me Here debuted at number one and was the fastest selling Australian single in ARIA chart history.
In addition to his ever successful singer/songwriter career, Guy has been a judge on Channel 7’s hit television show The X Factor since 2010.
Acclaimed singer/songwriter Mark Seymour has followed his successful 18 years with Hunters & Collectors with a vibrant solo recording career. Mark’s song writing ever evolves, he continually produces songs that resonate and permeate one’s consciousness. This evolution is due in part to the diversity of his activities, which include composition of film scores, writing and performing music for theatrical productions and acting. Internationally regarded as one of Australia’s best singer/songwriters. Mark continues to draw audiences with his intense, passionate vocals delivered with a measure of wry humour. Currently, Mark is preparing to release his 7th solo album, titled ‘The Seventh Heaven Club’ – due out March 1st 2013.
James Reyne is an extremely popular Australian rock musician and singer/songwriter both as the brilliant former front-man of the iconic 1980s band Australian Crawl and through his solo work since. As a solo artist he has sold over a million albums.
Born blind, Gurrumul grew up as a member of the Gumatj clan on Elcho Island, off the coast of tropical North East Arnhem Land. His fragile but powerfully emotive voice has affected the public in a way no other artist has done in this country. This unique Aboriginal man sings songs about identity, spirit and connection with the land, its elements and the ancestral beings he is related to. His high tenor voice and aura-like persona creates emotion, compassion and a feeling of peacefulness and longing with audiences in Australia and around the world. Gurrumul has received multiple ARIAS and Deadly awards both as a solo artist and as a member of Saltwater Band and Yothu Yindi.
Don’t miss this unique concert experience under the stars on the banks of the majestic Ord River. Bring your rug, picnic hamper and esky and together with your family and friends, enjoy the landscape, the people and the party!
