Josh Groban begins his highly anticipated ‘All That Echoes’ Australian Tour in Perth on Tuesday,  April 16.

Following receipt of full production information for the tour Live Nation have decided that the Perth concert will need to move from the currently scheduled venue at Kings Park to the Riverside Theatre. The show date remains unchanged.

The concert will feature Josh Groban joined by an ensemble of world class musicians featuring Andre Manga on bass, Ruslan Sirota on keys, Pete Korpela on percussion, Tariqh Akoni on guitar and Dave DiCenso on drums, with a local eight-piece orchestra and 12 person choir.

Given the large performing ensemble and consequent increased production requirements it has become apparent that Josh Groban’s concert will be best presented at an indoor venue. As well as facilitating the production requirements, the change ensures that the audience’s enjoyment of the performance will be independent of any weather issues.

As a result of this change in venue and consequent change in ticketing company, current ticket holders are required to exchange their tickets for new tickets to the Riverside Theatre.

Every effort will be made to provide ticket holders comparable seats.

It’s one of the hottest double bills of 2013 and not surprisingly, the response to the announcement that two of Australasia’s greatest singer songwriters Neil Finn and Paul Kelly are touring together has been overwhelming!

Live Nation and Mellen Events are delighted to announce that indie songstress Grace Woodroofe will join this stellar line-up as the opener for both Perth concerts this March.

With her uniquely warm, husky and sometimes mournful voice, Grace Woodroofe is about to make a special mark on the music scene.

At just 20 years of age, Perth-born Grace possesses wisdom and artistry well beyond her years. Forming a bond with music as a teenager, Grace taught herself to play guitar and sing.

“I was greatly inspired by blues singers, and developed my own blues indie sound,” she says. At the age of sixteen, Grace’s demo was placed in the capable hands of Ben Harper by none other than the late Heath Ledger.

“I got an email from Heath saying ‘I think you make really honest, pure music, and I want to help you get it out there’. Heath flew me out to LA, and he organised for me to do some recordings with several producers that he thought could help me. That’s when I first met Ben.”

Ben led her into the studio and together they began creating her debut self-titled album. “It started when I was 16 and I’m 20 now, and it’s taken a lot of work. This wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t have my heart and soul in it and if it wasn’t meant to happen.  It happened because it needed to.”

Future Entertainment and Mellen Events are super excited to announce that not only will the one and only Mark Ronson be taking to the Summadayze stage this New Year, but he’ll be joined by “top mates’ (and super talented gents) Andrew Wyatt, from Miike Snow and Baltimore’s finest, Spank Rock!

As a songwriter and producer Wyatt has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business, including Daniel Merriweather who’s single ‘Change’ co-written by Wyatt reached No 1 in the UK charts. He’s also worked with the uber cool Bruno Mars on his smash hit ‘Grenade’ which earned them both a Grammy nomination for ‘song of the year’. Most recently he’s collaborated with Mr Ronson himself on the super-smash hit single ‘Someone To Love Me’. And love him we do!

According to Wyatt, their friendship goes back a long time. “We’ve known each other since we were both struggling dudes in the basement,” he says. “We’ve kind of come up together, sort of grown up together in the music business, so it’s really special to do stuff with Mark. It’s always fun.”

Spank Rock was featured on “The Bike Song”, a single on Ronson’s 2010 album release ‘Record Collection’, before touring with Ronson’s ‘Business International’ US & UK tour. In 2011 Ronson returned the favour making a guest appearance on Spank’s long awaited sophomore LP executively produced by Boys Noize, ‘Everything Is Boring & Everyone Is A F-ing Liar” –  “Yeah I was working with Spank Rock because he was on this tour with us and he needed to get some work done. It was cool and nice, otherwise you just go out and get wasted and spend the day hung over and stuff. It was cool to go into the studio for a couple of days – his stuff came out and it was so progressive and it blew everyone away. It sounded like nothing else”.

The oh-so sunny Summa season is just around the corner and with just over a month to go Summadayze has officially hit boiling point! The countdown is on and, with a second installment of international and local artists confirmed to head down under this January – where else would you rather be?

Adding to an already star-studded line-up that includes the likes of The Chemical Brothers, M.I.A, Mark Ronson and Fedde Le Grand, this 2^nd round of world-class acts are set to send the Summadayze stage into over-drive!

In a move that’s sure to make your Summa sizzle, we can now officially confirm that the rumors are true – Mark Ronson will be bringing very special guest Andrew Wyatt, lead singer of Miike Snow, on the road with him this year. Last in the country with Miike Snow for Splendour In The Grass, and having collaborated with Ronson on the smash hit song ‘Somebody To Love Me’, we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us on the festival stage!

British based ‘it’ band Sam & The Womp will be making their Australian festival debut at this year’s Summadayze. Their smash hit, UK #1 single ‘Bom Bom’ has quite literally taken the world by storm! Out here recently on a whirlwind promo tour that included a performance on The X-Factor, they’ll be heading back to our shores with a full band in tow.

The Ord Valley Events Board and West Australian concert/event promoter, Mellen Events have today announced that next year’s 13^th annual Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster will take place from Friday 17 May through to Sunday 26 May inclusive.

Once again this iconic West Australian event will feature an outstanding line-up of concerts and activities for the entertainment of Kimberley residents and the many visitors from around the nation and across the globe that the region attracts at that time of the year.

The highlight of this exciting fun-filled festival will be the internationally acclaimed Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Jim Hughes Ampitheatre on the banks of the majestic Ord River.  This year’s event, featuring Australian music legends, Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and Joe Camilleri was a resounding sellout success and we anticipate next year’s concert also selling out once the line-up for 2013 is announced late January, if not sooner.

WA’s favourite rock ‘n’ roll band The Volcanics (pictured left) have been enlisted to support The Saints on Friday Nov 30 at the Fly By Night.

Inspired by the great local bands that came before them such as The Victims and The Scientists as well as the classic rock and soul of Chuck Berry and Little Richard, the band have concocted their own brand of white hot, fuel injected rock ‘n’ roll.

More recently The Volcanics have recorded a new album with producer and Australian rock ‘n’ roll legend Rob Younger (Radio Birdman, New Christs), Engineer Kenny Watt (M-16’s) and mixed by ARIA award winning producer/engineer Wayne Connolly (You Am I, The Vines).

The album is due for release early 2013.

Mellen Events and Bluehawk Presents regret to advise that Glen Campbell has cancelled his August tour to New Zealand and Australia.

Glen and his medical specialists are of the opinion that due to his declining Alzheimers condition, the long international flight from Los Angeles would be detrimental to his health.

Glen apologises that he is unable to perform one last time for his fans as previous concerts over the past four decades were so well received here.    

This was to have been Glen’s farewell visit on his The Goodbye Tour as the support act for fellow Country Superstar, Kenny Rogers. 

Channel Seven’s Sunday Night crew recently travelled to America to profile Glen ahead of the tour and this story touches on his illness.  It is scheduled for broadcast within the next few weeks.

Kenny’s headline concerts will continue with our own multi-awarded icons as very special guests – Troy Cassar-Daley at the Riverside Theatre PCEC on Tuesday 21 August and the Palais Theatre Melbourne on Thursday 23 August while Lee Kernaghan shares the stage at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Friday 24 August.

Looking back on a blockbuster Muster!

Still reeling from what has been the best Muster yet, Ord Valley Events inc. and Mellen Events would like to take the time to sincerely thank all of the amazing sponsors and the community of Kununurra who pulled out all the stops to get behind the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster, and help create a truly spectacular and successful event!

With most major events selling out and the inclusion of new items to the calendar, this year proved that the Ord Valley Muster has justly secured its place as a first-rate event. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow did not let us down, leading the 500 strong sellout crowd on a quirky journey of laughs, gaffs and the all too frequent story to make you squirm. Poh Ling Yeow showed us exactly why people are so fascinated and drawn to her style of cooking, as she dazzled the audience with her display in the Kimberley Kitchen, show casing many of the unique and wonderful ingredients readily available in the Kimberley Region.

The Durack Homestead Dinner with Poh was a standout event of the Muster. The inaugural evening, which invited 50 guests to a long table dinner, sold out well in advance, and provided the opportunity for guests to truly experience the seclusion of the outback and appreciate the uniqueness in events that the Ord Valley Muster has become renowned for. In a location as visually stunning as it is loaded with genuine Kununurra history, Durack Homestead leant itself to a magical night that will not be forgotten any time soon.

And to top it all off, the cornerstone event, which has significantly grown each and every year, The Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience did not disappoint, with its best show and biggest crowd to date! From the stunning acts of many local artists to the international caliber that was brought to the Kimberley through the likes of Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and the Black Sorrows, the KME is proving more and more difficult to top each year! Adding glitz and glamour to the entire festival came in the form of the annual Kimberley Fine Diamonds Corporate Circle at the Kimberley Moon Experience. In just 3 weeks time, the East Kimberley region will come alive with the annual 10-day Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster featuring an outstanding line-up of concerts and events for the entertainment of Kimberley residents and the many visitors from around the nation and across the globe that the region attracts at this time of the year.

Tickets are selling faster than anticipated to highlight events. In fact the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Road Show at The Hoochery on May 28 and the Durack Homestead Dinner hosted by celebrity chef Poh Ling Yeow on May  31, have already SOLD OUT!

Melbourne International Comedy Festival Road Show will feature MC Joel Creasey, David Quirk, Marina Franklin (USA) and Smart Casual.

In other exciting news, it has just been announced that one of Australia’s favourite comedians, Tom Gleeson will MC the spectacular Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience featuring Australian music legends Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and The Black Sorrows, at the Jim Hughes Ampitheatre under the Kimberley moon by the banks of the majestic Ord River on Saturday, June 2.

Gleeson has enjoyed many television appearances, has had numerous sell out shows across Australia and has performed several times at major comedy festivals across the globe.

Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience audience members are invited to bring a rug, picnic hamper and esky or indulge in the Kimberley Fine Diamonds Corporate Circle with fine wines and a delicious sit-down dinner by one of Western Australia’s most dynamic chefs, Don Hancey.

For those who missed out on tickets to the Durack Homestead Dinner hosted by Poh Ling Yeow, a limited number of tickets are still available to her Kimberley Kitchen in Celebrity Tree Park on May 30 at which ABC1’s “Poh’s Kitchen” celebrity chef will delight audiences with live cooking demonstrations using the finest ingredients that the Kimberley region has to offer.  As a special treat, Poh will also whip up delicious mocktails for the crowd to compliment their tasting of her dishes.  This will be followed by a book signing.

This summer marks the 11^th year of a day/evening on the green concerts.  After close to 300 shows and more than two million happy patrons, the a day/evening on the green experience of good food, good wine and great music is firmly established as one of Australia’s most popular events.

Promoters Roundhouse Entertainment and Mellen Events are delighted to announce that the final concert in this summer’s an evening on the green series in Kings Park & Botanic Garden on March 31 has sold out.

Noiseworks, Daryl Braithwaite, Richard Clapton, 1927 and Choirboys will perform in a five hour musical feast; a celebration of the Australian rock music history they have so vibrantly helped define.

Kings Park & Botanic Garden will enjoy one giant sing-a-long of home-grown hits with a sell out crowd on March 31!

There’s a reason Erykah Badu has been labelled the Queen of Soul. It’s in every move she makes as she confidently controls her stage. It’s there every time she opens her mouth, whether she is merely addressing her audience or melting even the hardest hearts with her sweet yet powerful vocals. Yes, Erykah Badu is the true definition of a Queen.

After keeping the audience waiting for an hour, she finally sauntered on stage to affect a delicious insouciance, peering through a pair of school-marm spectacles as if to say: “Who are you applauding — what, me?” She might have come across tough and a little intimidating, but the wry smile she is trying her hardest to suppress keeps giving her away.

With her short hair knotted into twin buns, Badu projects an eccentric brand of cool. Her look — hip-hop gold chains over a black top and multicoloured Picasso pants — seems androgynous until she swivels to reveal a plunging, back-exposing effect at the rear. These occasional glimpses of flesh carry an undeniably erotic charge, but in a delectably artful rather than crass MTV style — an effect heightened by her feline slinkiness.

Backing her was a well-schooled four-piece (drums, keyboards, bass and DJ) plus four back-up singers who proved equally adept at dirty funk in the spirit of 1970s acts such as Funkadelic and the Ohio Players to stripped-back soul with a minimalist aesthetic (Badu’s use of an electronic percussion pad reinforcing the influence of hip-hop’s 80s heyday).

Appletree copped a surprise re-working. Starting with a solo from Badu on her drum machine before giving the lyrics a jazzy ‘scat-style’ remix, it’s enough to spark a bums-off-seats rebellion that will last the rest of the night. The set flawlessly bounces on as the Opera House is treated to a beautifully soulful version of Love of My Life, a joint that usually features Chi-town emcee Common. Before the end of the set proper, stomping renditions of I Want You and Danger will also be added to the nights highlight reel. At the conclusion of Danger, Erykah waves a short goodbye and leaves the stage for the first time.

Erykah’s stage manager informs the crowd that if we want to see her again she is going to have to hear us. “Badu…Badu…Badu” is the response from the crowd, and a short moment later she is back centre stage. She instructs the audience to help her out with the “Yes-sir-ee” parts of the next song, before making Soldier, the first cab off the encore rank. She interrupts the track mid-way through to make a political statement, granting solid insight into the frame of mind she was in when writing Soldier and the album it belongs to.

The farewell track for the night is Bag Lady, performed while the lady of the night graciously jumps down to greet the first few rows of the audience. Erykah Badu truly tore the roof off the Opera House tonight.

24 year old DJ Skrillex is one amazingly talented electronic music producer, having won 3 Grammys and being nominated for many more, he has helped put the dubstep genre on the map by slowly venturing into the mainstream music scene.

The 3 grammys won at the pre-telecast ceremony include Best Remixed Recording (Non-Classical) for the song “Cinema (Skrillex Remix)”, Best Dance/Electronica Album for “Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites” and Best Dance Recording for the title track.  Skrillex was also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Short Form Video but lost out to Bon Iver & Adele.

The former From First to Last member accepted his awards claiming that he had made the song Cinema (Skrillex Remix) in his bedroom when he was living illegally in a warehouse in downtown LA.

Needless to say the producer isnt homeless anymore with reports he earns up to $100,000 per night to spin at nightclubs. To be The Future Of Future, the concept is simple.

1. Send a 5 minute mixtape or SoundCloud link to thefutureoffuture@jumpclimb.com  profiling the diversity, creativity, and uniqueness of your DJ skills by no later than SUNDAY 19th FEBRUARY at 6pm. Note – the mix must contain AT LEAST one artist playing at Future Music Festival 2012.

2. 8 contestants will be chosen to compete at Capitol on Saturday 25th February and given 15 minutes each to impress our panel of five hand-selected judges. Judging criteria will be based on: Crowd Response/Reaction, Diversity and Creativity, Track Selection and of course The F-Factor (that’s the Future Factor, duh!)

3. The top 2 contestants will then DJ for their lives for 10 minutes EACH and the judging panel will adjudicate to decide who will be The Future Of Future and play at Future Music Festival 2012 in Perth!

And the party won’t stop there, with just announced Future Music Festival additions the Death Disco DJs headlining the party from 11pm!

Mellen Events and Bluehawk Presents are delighted to announce that legendary composer Burt Bacharach has added a second concert in Melbourne on Friday 20 April, as part of his national Farewell to The Symphonies Tour.

Whilst in Australia during his previous sold-out concerts, Burt was proclaimed The Greatest Living Composer at the 50^th Grammy Awards when honoured with his eighth Grammy, the Lifetime Achievement Award.   He is also the recipient of three Academy Awards and following the upcoming visit, will join the ranks of Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney as a recipient of the elite Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.

As if Jessie J’s bombastic live show wasn’t awesome enough, Future Entertainment and Mellen Events are excited to announce today that UK underground Hip Hop phenomenon, Professor Green (pictured), has accepted the mic as support for Jessie J’s first ever Australian headline tour!

Breaking out of London’s underground Hip Hop scene back in 2006 at the tender age of 23, Professor Green (aka Stephen Paul Manderson) is a prodigious rapper whose got more than just the skills to pay the bills. In just five short years he’s won the inaugural JumpOff Myspace battle rap tournament, toured with megastars like Lily Allen and The Game, and dropped a debut LP (Alive Till I’m Dead, 2010) on mega-label Virgin Records that captivated Hip Hop fans around the globe. His acclaimed follow up is At Your Inconvenience.

Professor Green’s two albums to date reached number two and three respectively in the UK charts, and his most recent single Read All About It (feat. Emeli Sandé) was a smash hit in the UK, reaching the dizzying heights of Number one!

Joining Jessie J and Professor Green is sassy lady Ruby Rose who will warm up the crowds and get the party started. As a DJ Ruby Rose plays at the hottest clubs, parties and festivals around the world. She’s taken her signature mixes to renowned LA Club XIV, put it on wax with a compilation album with Grant Smillie that debuted at number ten on the ARIA charts. She also hosts number one-rating radio show ‘Party People’ and is currently working on her first solo album – phew! The girl is busy!

Skrillex, who was recently nominated for 5 Grammys, crowned by BBC as one of their Sounds of 2012 and anointed MTV’s EDM Artist of The Year, has decided to release his feverishly anticipated third release, the Bangarang EP on OWSLA/Big Beat/Atlantic/Neon Records.

Bangarang EP features collaborations with The Doors, Ellie Goulding, Wolfgang Gartner, 12th Planet, Kill The Noise, and Sirah and demonstrates considerable growth in terms of production style and diversity.

The release is digitally available on iTunes now and is available through all other physical retailers on the 27th of January. Skrillex will be in the country in March 2012 as part of the Future Music Festival where he will play alongside the likes of New Order, Swedish House Mafia, Fatboy Slim, The Wombats & Jessie J to name a few.
