Hoodoo Gurus GENERAL RELEASE IMAGEThe legendary Hoodoo Gurus. By any measure, one of Australia’s greatest, best loved, most enduring rock bands of all time.

Hoodoo Gurus had a string of acclaimed pop-rock singles including Leilani, TojoMy GirlI Want You Back, Bittersweet, Like Wow – Wipeout and What’s My Scene.  After touring the United States from 1984 onwards they gained popularity on the U.S. college rock circuit with singles Come Anytime reaching No. 1 and Miss Freelove ’69  reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Modern Rock charts. The Gurus’ biggest Australian hit single was their 1987 Top 3 hit song What’s My Scene.

Hoodoo Gurus’ iconic status on the Australian rock scene was cemented when they were inducted into the 2007 ARIA Hall Of Fame. Their induction announcement stated that the Hoodoo Gurus were one of the most “inventive, lyrically smart and exciting” bands from Australia. From 1960s power pop, and wild garage punk to hard driving rock and funky psychedelic kitsch their music stood out from Sydney’s Detroit-inspired bands.

youami2013Renowned for the explosive live shows, Australian music legends You Am I are celebrating a landmark 20th year anniversary!

You Am I is the first Australian band to achieve 3 successive albums debuting at #1 on the ARIA charts and have amassed 9 ARIA (not to mention 32 nominations) and almost 2000 live shows worldwide.

Their first three albums “Sound As Ever”, “Hi Fi Way” and “Hourly Daily” have been reissued this year to huge acclaim in celebration of their 20th anniversary and their set for this upcoming evening on the green can only be massive – let’s face it, pretty much every track across all 9 albums released to date is a hit…

With enormous ‘aphrodisiacal’ qualities, The Whitlams appeal reaches audiences of all ages and tastes.  With lyrics described as having a ‘charming cynicism’ and enhanced by an instinct for poignant melody, The Whitlams have become a staple of the Australian music scene.

They won Best Group at the 1998 ARIA Awards, as well as Song of the Year and Best Independent Release for their 3rd album “Eternal Nightcap”.

davegraney12This latest incarnation in the always colorful career of Dave Graney and partner-in-crime Clare Moore is called The mistLY.  The new name accompanied the 2012 album ‘You’ve Been On My Mind’, Dave’s fourth album in as many years. Three decades, 20 plus albums, two books and countless gigs later, Dave remains as eclectic and entertaining as ever.

Rainy Day Women in Perth, June 2 2013These five Perth locals have a knack for melody and sundrenched ditties reminiscent of The Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac.  They make bright savvy music of the pop variety and are making a big name for themselves.  The band was nominated for the Breakthrough Act and Most Promising New Act at the 2012 WAMI Awards – incredibly talented up & comers and ones to watch!
