Eskimo Joe with WASO

ESKIMO JOE + WASO REUNITE FOR A MAGICAL NIGHT UNDER THE STARS

Eskimo Joe returns to the Perth stage this summer for a huge show with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), following on from their 2018 tour collaboration celebrating the band's 21st birthday to much success and acclaim.

They will be playing the classics, including 'Black Fingernails, Red Wine’, 'From The Sea' and 'Foreign Land', all with a 50-piece orchestra. This amazing meeting of the musical minds is an experience not to be missed.

Joining Eskimo Joe on this line-up is fellow WA music royalty, Bob Evans, aka Kevin Mitchell. From playing the pub stages of Perth together in the mid-‘90s when the Eskies and Jebediah were up-and-comers, the diverse career paths of these ARIA Award-winning musical friends are bonded by their enduring ascendance.

Don’t miss this night of WA greats, as ever, at the top of their game.

Eskimo Joe

Beloved West Australian indie rockers, Eskimo Joe, have amassed one of the country’s most enviable rock and roll CVs. With 6 studio albums under their belts and sales in excess of 750,000, in Australia alone, the band has seen 3 of those albums debut at number 1 on the ARIA charts, with juggernaut ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’ shining for a monster 62 week in the Top 50 and “Foreign Land”, from their fourth album ‘Inshalla', bringing home 2 APRA Awards, for Most Played Rock Song on Australian radio and Best Rock Song of 2010.

The ARIA award winning rockers have never been ones to rest on their laurels and the band continue to embrace new challenges and horizons. To celebrate their 21st Birthday, 2018 saw Eskimo Joe embarked on national tour, backed by symphony orchestras across the country, including a performance at The Sydney Opera house with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and The Perth Concert Hall with The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO). More recently, the band celebrated the re-release of their hit record ‘Black Fingernails Red Wine’, performing the album in full to an adoring sold-out home town crowd.

After the success of the 21st Birthday Orchestra shows, Eskimo Joe will reprise their partnership with the WASO for a very special performance in beautiful Kings Park, Perth on December 1st 2019. Supported by the brilliant Bob Evans, this is an event not to be missed.

Bob Evans

Bob Evans, the ARIA winning alter ego of Jebediah front man Kevin Mitchell, has graced the Australian music scene for more than two decades, writing some of the country’s most beloved songs.

Having released five acclaimed studio albums under the solo moniker and amassed a swag of awards in the process, 2018 saw Bob Evans release ‘Full Circle’, a greatest hits record that was a means of “Tying the last 15 years of Bob Evans up in a little bow“ according to Mitchell.

After touring ‘Full Circle’ to packed clubs across the country in 2018, the 2006 Bob Evans classic ‘Suburban Songbook’ was re-released in early 2019 on vinyl, selling out almost immediately. With new horizons beckoning for Kevin Mitchell and the Bob Evans project, he continues to be one of the countries most admired songwriters and performers.
